Dr. Carnahan

Since September 2013, I have been a professor and dean of the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation at Memorial University. I am also cross appointed with the Department of Psychology, and with the Offshore Safety and Survival Centre (OSSC) at the Marine Institute.

My research involves studying how we learn to become expert at performing motor skills with a focus on the role of sensory information such as touch in this process. I also apply current motor control and learning theory to studying the acquisition and retention of the safety and survival skills associated with marine transport.
